13. Sebastian Fundora (24-1-1, 16 KOs)

“The Towering Inferno” was born West Palm Beach, Florida on December 28th 1997. He is of Cuban and Mexican descent and has five siblings. Fundora’s family moved to Coachella, California when he was nine years old. His father – Freddy Fundora – was a former pro fighter and got Sebastian to start boxing at eight years old.

Sebastian had an extensive stint as an amateur, with over 100 fights before turning professional. On September 24th 2016, Fundora defeated Jose Cardenas by knockout to start his pro career. He followed that with seven fights in 2017, then three fights in 2018. In 2019, Fundora knocked out Donnie Marshall and Hector Zepeda before taking on Jamontay Clark in Minneapolis. It ended in a draw, but that did not halt the momentum of Fundora.

Starting in 2020 Fundora won seven consecutive bouts to climb up the rankings at super welterweight, including a stoppage win over Erickson Lubin to win the WBC interim title. On April 8th 2023, he suffered his first loss to Brian Mendoza as he was knocked out in the seventh round. He responded to that loss by getting a decision win over Tim Tszyu in March of the following year to become the WBC and WBO champion in the division.

Since that victory, Fundora has stopped Chordale Booker, Tim Tszyu in a rematch, and on March 28th 2026 Fundora beat Keith Thurman by sixth round stoppage. Currently Fundora is considered at or near the top of the super welterweight division. After his last series of wins he has a case to be just that.
