Taylor-Catterall 2 will take place April 27th
After a close bout that took place two years ago in Scotland, many fight fans were thinking that Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall would have an immediate rematch. While that didn’t happen, the fans will get to see the two back in the ring on April 27th. This bout will be at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
Both Taylor (19-1, 13 KOs) and Catterall (28-1, 13 KOs) will have a lot at stake in this bout as Taylor looks to rebound from his loss to Teofimo Lopez and Catterall seeks to avenge the loss to Taylor, which he felt that he won. In the first bout, Catterall knocked Taylor down in the 8th round and caused cuts to Taylor’s left eye. However, two judges felt that Taylor got the better of Catterall.
Taylor is eager to have this rematch as there were rumblings that he did not want to fight Catterall again.
“I’ve never run from anyone in my life, especially not Jack Catterall,” said Taylor. “Jack should be careful what he wishes for because he’s getting battered on April 27th. I am going to enjoy every second of this.”
For Catterall, this is a chance at redemption for not getting the decision back in February of 2022.
“I’ve wanted this fight since the moment the scorecards got read out in Glasgow,” said Catterall. “This isn’t about belts, this is personal to me and I can’t wait to get my hands on him. I don’t like him, I don’t respect him and on April 27th I’m going to end him.”
Taylor-Catterall 2 will be televised on ESPN+ in the US and on DAZN outside of the US.
