Lamont Roach Jr. headlines fight card in DC
WBA super featherweight champion Lamont Roach Jr will make his first defense of his title against Feargal McCrory, headlining a ProBox TV fight card that will take place June 28th at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington DC. It is presented by NoXcuse Promotions and includes eight other fights. Tickets are on sale at teamnoxcuse.com/tickets and through all Ticketmaster outlets.
Roach (24-1-1, 9 KOs) is coming off of his victory over Hector Luis Garcia last November to capture the WBA title and aims to establish himself as the top fighter in the 130 pound division. He faces an undefeated contender in McCrory (16-0, 8 KOs) from Ireland who gets his first opportunity at a world title. McCrory last stepped in the ring in March with a TKO win over Carlos Carlson. He is ranked 12 in the WBA rankings. Roach is coming in this bout as a top ten fighter in the super featherweight division.
It is the main event of a fight card that includes Lester Martinez against Carlos Gongora in the super middleweight division, Rianna Rios versus Mary Romero, Alex Dilmaghani facing Rene Tellez Giron, and five more bouts featuring fighters Greg Outlaw, Deric Davis, Eric Hernandez, Benjamin Johnson, and Lamont’s younger brother Jordan Roach in his pro debut.
