Kelvin Davis faces Pete Dobson in welterweight bout May 16th
Norfolk native Kelvin Davis will return to the Scope Arena on May 16th as he hopes to get back in the win column against veteran Peter Dobson, part of the Top Rank fight card headlined by the rematch between Keyshawn Davis and Nahir Albright. It will be streamed live on DAZN.
Kelvin (15-1, 8 KOs) is the elder brother of Keyshawn and will be having his first bout since losing to Albright last June. He had wins over Kevin Johnson, Jose Maruffo, and Yeis Solano before his bout against Albright. This will also be Kelvin’s first time fighting in the welterweight division.
Dobson (17-3, 10 KOs) started his career with 16 straight wins from 2014 to 2022. In February of 2024 he faced Conor Benn in Las Vegas and suffered his first loss by unanimous decision. Later in the year, he fought Jalil Hackett in Philadelphia and lost by decision then did not step in the ring until November of last year to face Jesus Saracho. He fell short in that bout but last month Dobson defeated Jorge Regalado by first round knockout.
Another bout that has been added to the May 16th card is Yan Santana versus Christian Cruz. Santana (16-0, 13 KOs) was 3-0 in 2025 including a knockout of Alexis Molina last November. The 26-yea-old from the Dominican Republic hopes to get closer to a world title shot. Before defeating Molina, he shut out Aaron Alameda in New York City. Cruz (24-7-2, 12 KOs) is from Tijuana, Mexico and last fought on ProBox TV against Muhammad Yakubov which ended in a draw. He defeated Jeremy Hill by decision on ProBox back in September of last year.
