Jarrell Miller and Lenier Pero will fight in Vegas April 25th
Heavyweight contenders Jarrell Miller and Lenier Pero will meet in an eliminator for the WBA World Heavyweight title at the BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday April 25th. This bout will headline a Matchroom Boxing fight card that will be shown live worldwide on DAZN.
Miller (27-1-2 22 KOs) will be competing in his second bout this year, after he scored a split decision win over Kingsley Ibeh on January 31st in New York City. The 37 year old Brooklynite did have a viral moment in his bout against Ibeh, as he had a hairpiece that was dislodged during the fight. Miller made the most of the moment while scoring the win, but now he is in a high stakes fight against Pero.

“The most exciting, the most entertaining Heavyweight in the world is back in action bringing the fireworks,” Miller said. “When you step in the ring with me, there’s always a price toupee!”
Pero (13-0 8 KOs) is ranked #2 in the WBA rankings and is coming off of a decision win over Jordan Thompson in Orlando last November. The 33 year old Cuban who now resides in Miami made a statement in the heavyweight division back in 2023 with a knockout over Viktor Vykhryst, and also has stoppage wins over Guillermo Andino and Donnie Palmer. Pero knows that a win against Miller would put him in a great position for a world title shot.
“I respect Jarrell Miller and what he brings to the ring, but this is a big opportunity for me to keep moving forward,” said Pero. “I’ve worked my entire life for moments like this, and every fight is another step toward my goal of becoming a world champion.”

Both fighters were face to face after Pero’s win over Thompson, which set the stage for this bout to take place. At that time, Miller credited Pero for the win but said “when he fights me, I’m smoking him.”
Matchroom Boxing chairman Eddie Hearn expressed the importance of this bout at heavyweight.
“This is a big fight in the division,” said Hearn. “Jarrell broke the internet in New York for his hairy moment against Ibeh, but he also picked up a good win and crucial rounds too. Jarrell now must take this opportunity by the scruff of the neck and put himself into the conversation for the big names at heavyweight.”
Hearn also mentioned Pero’s status in the division ranks.
“Lenier is the man ranked at #2 with the WBA though, and he’s not going to want to let that slip through his fingers,” he said. “Get ready for fireworks in a pivotal clash in Sin City, live on DAZN.”
