Fighting in Photos: Ahmad Jones scores 3rd round TKO over Ahmed Conteh to stay unbeaten

HANOVER – The crowd at Maryland Live Casino was looking forward to seeing Ahmad Jones step in the ring for his 8th professional fight on Saturday, and he did not disappoint.

Jones (8-0) scored a couple of knockdowns in the 3rd round against Ahmed Conteh (5-2), and then a third knockdown before the end of the round forced referee Malik Waleed to stop the bout giving the 24 year old Baltimore native his sixth knockout win of his pro career.

It took a couple of rounds for Jones to land significant punches on Conteh, due to Conteh using the jab fairly often to keep Jones at a distance. Conteh could not sustain that advantage as once Jones was able to get within range he landed power shots to force Conteh to step back, and that was enough to shift the momentum to Jones.
