Genc Pllana is “ready to fight” Edgar Berlanga

The 26 year old native of Hagerstown Maryland is not phased by the KO win streak of Edgar Berlanga.

Genc Pllana (8-2-1, 4 KOs) believes that Berlanga has not faced any notable opponents to get to the point where he currently is in the super middleweight division. As of now, Berlanga is ranked 6th in the WBA and 9th in the WBO. With Pllana not being able to fight on Saturday against Khainell Wheeler, he would like to be the next opponent for “The Chosen One” which could possibly happen on December 12th. Pllana says that he is available and that there is no way that the fight should not happen.

“He should have no issue fighting me. Especially if he is the monster that they say he is,” said Pllana.  “He has not defeated anyone in the top-100, Where I have already defeated two fighters that were top-50, and I have only had 11 bouts.  So fighting me would me the perfect fight for him.”

Pllana has defeated Kevin Newman this year after getting a draw against Kelvin Henderson a year ago. He has not been stopped in his career, but did lose his last fight in September against Maidel Sando. The setback did not drain all of his confidence, however. After the cancellation of the Wheeler fight he wanted to go after the Brooklyn native. That

“Genc has proven that he will face anyone at anytime, and when I gave him the news that Saturday’s fight was off, he told me to pursue a fight with Berlanga.”

Edgar Berlanga is looking to fit in one more fight this year, as he scored wins over Eric Moon in July and Lanell Bellows in October.
