Four division champion Shakur Stevenson signs with Zuffa Boxing
Undefeated four-division world champion Shakur Stevenson has signed a deal with Zuffa Boxing, as announced by lead promoter Dana White.
Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) currently holds the WBO and Ring Magazine titles at super lightweight after defeating Teofimo Lopez in Madison Square Garden on January 31st. Hailing from Newark, New Jersey, the 2016 Olympic silver medalist has won world titles in the featherweight, super featherweight, and lightweight divisions before his victory over Lopez.
Currently Stevenson is viewed as a top five pound for pound fighter in the sport, with The Boxing Source having Stevenson at 5 in their top 16 rankings. With this signing, he hopes to get to the top and prove that he is the best in the sport.
“Line them up, one by one, and I’ll beat all the top guys once I get them in front of me,” said Stevenson. “With Zuffa Boxing, I’m going to go after the biggest fights in the sport and I will become the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”
Dana White is excited to get Stevenson on the Zuffa Boxing roster and can’t wait to announce his first fight under the promotional company.
“Shakur is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world,” said White. “He’s 29 years old, undefeated and already a four-division world champion. This is a massive signing for Zuffa Boxing, and I’m looking forward to promoting this next fight.”
