Fighting in Photos – Scarboro outpoints Montes to decision victory
HANOVER – Francois Scarboro Jr. (14-0, 9KOs) used timely combination punching and sharp counters to get a unanimous decision victory over Maxwel Montes (13-5-1, 7 KOs) to stay unbeaten in the super featherweight division. Judge Steve Rados scored the bout 99-91, while Vincent Santino and Paul Wallace scored it 98-92 in favor of Scarboro.
Scarboro threw over double the amount of jabs as Montes (330 to 161) and landed nearly twice the amount of total punches (199 t0 102). He was also more successful with punches to the body as he landed 41 in comparison to 15 for Montes. It is the second victory this year for Scarboro, as he defeated Brandon Valdes in January.
