Jared Anderson continued his streak of stopping every opponent that he has faced by scoring a TKO victory over George Arias after three rounds of action at the Prudential Center in Newark. Anderson is now 14-0 and handed Arias the first loss of his career. The 23 year old from Toledo used the jab early and often in the first two rounds then pushed the pace in the third round by landing a number of power punches from the southpaw stance. When Arias went to his corner, his team observed that he suffered a cut over his left eye and decided that Arias could not go out for the fourth round.
Anderson held the WBO international title and acquired the WBC United States title with this victory, and wanted to send a message to the rest of the division after the fight.
“I want those top names. I want those top contenders. Everybody who keeps calling people out, put my name on the list now. I’m not ducking. I’m not running. And you goin’ to catch this smoke.”
