The superfight of this generation is now official as the undefeated three-division world champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis will square off with unbeaten “King” Ryan Garcia on Saturday April 22nd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event will be presented by Premier Boxing Champions, and the telecast is being produced and distributed by Showtime PPV and will be available across pay-per-view providers including DAZN PPV.
A couple months ago, Davis scored his latest stoppage victory over Hector Luis Garcia in a sellout crowd in Washington DC to defend the WBA lightweight title. The Baltimore native has had multiple events that have sold out arenas including New York City, Los Angeles, and San Antonio. He’s won world titles in the super featherweight, lightweight, and super lightweight divisions with victories over fighters such as Jose Pedraza, Mario Barrios, Leo Santa Cruz, and Rolando Romero. His popularity has made him one of the hottest attractions in the sport.

“I’m excited for this fight and I appreciate Ryan stepping up to the plate and helping make this happen,” said Davis. “This is one of those fights that everyone has been talking about for a few years now. I know I’m going to be ready to put on a show. Make sure you buy the pay-per-view or come out to Las Vegas and witness a historic fight between two of the biggest names in boxing.”
Ryan Garcia is from Victorville, California and has a huge following that supports him inside and outside of the ring. While building up his record with victories over former champion Luke Campbell and Javier Fortuna, he sees himself as the next superstar in the sport. Garcia has been trained by Hall of Fame inductee Joe Goossen in his last two fights, and he feels confident that he can give Davis the first loss of his pro career.
“This is the super fight of the year,” Garcia said. “Boxing needs to return to the best fighting the best, and I’m bringing back that hype, that glamor, and a new generation of fans to this beautiful sport. Tank is shorter than me, slower than me, older than me, and he knows it. He’s been ducking me for months, but now he’s all out of excuses. It’s time for him to get knocked out.”
Davis vs. Garcia is promoted by GTD Promotions, TGB Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions.
