It’s been over 15 years, but Mike Tyson is back.
The former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world will be returning to the boxing ring as part of a fight card which will have him going up against former multi-division world champion Roy Jones Jr. in a pay-per-view main event. It will take place on September 12th at 9:00pm ET on pay-per-view as well as on the social media app called Triller. The fight, titled “FRONTLINE BATTLE,” is the first event of a series produced under Mike Tyson’s Legends Only League, a sports venture owned by Tyson and Eros Innovations which has partnered with Triller on all future boxing events.
It will be the first event of a series produced under Mike Tyson’s Legends Only League, a sports venture owned by Tyson and Eros Innovations. The league is a sports venture that provides full support and infrastructure to the world’s greatest athletes, bringing the best of the best back to the ring, onto the court, and back on the field. With Tyson as the leader of this organization, he aspires to get former athletes to rekindle their competitive fire and come back one more time.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to create, build, and honor athletes,” said Tyson. “All athletes live to follow their dreams and fight for excellence. It’s something that is inherent in each of us and that drive never goes away. Legends Only League will support athletes in their individual sports, creating some of the most epic competitions, products and live events in the world.”
Tyson will take on Jones in an 8-round exhibition match sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission. It headlines a three-hour live event that will include undercard matches and musical performances. Triller – which has over 140 million downloads worldwide – has the exclusive rights to the main event and the series leading up to the fight. The documentary will be ten episodes and will debut within the next couple of weeks.
“Frontline Battle” is an event that will be produced by Mike Tyson, Sophie Watts, Johnny Ryan Jr., Azim Spicer, Kiki Tyson, Ryan Kavanaugh and Bobby Sarnevesht.
