Due to multiple issues in the camp of former cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev, he will not be taking part in the fight card scheduled for Saturday February 29th at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.

Gassiev (26-1, 19 KO) has been inactive since his loss to Oleksandr Usyk in the WBSS finals back in July of 2018. After that fight he was planning on moving up to the heavyweight division. There was a previous attempt for him to have a fight at heavyweight last July against Joey Dawejko, but a shoulder injury prevented that from happening.

This time, he was scheduled to fight Jerry Forrest but a report given to TASS stated that there are issues with Gassiev being prepared to fight on February 29th so he will not be on the Mikey Garcia-Jessie Vargas fight card.
